Make Mine AMD

I'd be nervous if I was Intel....
The Athlon 64 X2 positively trounced the Pentium EE 840 at this task. The Athlon 64 X2 encoded the large file almost 2 1/2 minutes faster than the Pentium EE 840. This is not huge by itself, but if video editing and encoding is what you do as a hobby or for a living, this can translate into hours of recovered work time. Also, since the Athlon 64 X2 is dual core, there is minimal slowdown on other tasks you perform at the same time. You can do e-mail, surf the Web, run an encode, and run antivirus scans all at the same time as long as you have enough RAM in your system (we recommend at least 1GB for power users). Talk about being productive
