iRiver Intros New Players

The prices seem a little on the high side to me, but you are getting a color screen. I'm requesting one to review so stay tuned.
Not to be left behind, iRiver is now offering its iRiver H10 in three new sizes, in addition to the current 5GB model. A 20GB model (pictured), which measures 4.0 by 2.4 by 0.85 inches and weighs 5.8 ounces, is available for $299.99 list. A 6GB model is also available for $279.99. It's slightly smaller (by about 0.2 inches in each di-mension) and weighs about 3.4 ounces; we feel that this is a somewhat superfluous model since you can get an extra 14GB of storage for only $20 more. In June, a flash-based 1GB model measuring 2.8 by 1.7 by 0.7 inches will be available for a fairly steep $229.99. Though it will include a color display, FM tuner, and voice recorder, as do the larger-capacity models, it's certainly not an iPod shuffle killer at that price point. The company claims battery life will be 16 hours for the 20GB, 12 hours for the 6GB, and 30 hours for the 1GB; only the 6GB model has a user-replaceable battery. All of the devices support Microsoft's PlaysForSure program and support MP3, WMA, JPEG and TXT file formats as well as Napster To Go and Rhapsody To Go online music services. And of course, they all come in gray, silver, black, or red, so you can match them with your favorite outfit. We're not sure all of these models should be priced so close together, but the company is certainly making sure to cover all its bases.
