In my opinion, the more it looks like it belongs in a living room, the greater the adoption will be. If they can get the price to something reasonable, this should be popular.
Philips, at the IFA consumer electronics show in Berlin, is showing off their upcoming addition to their "Connected Planet" product line called the Philips MCP9350i Showline Media Center (via Tech Digest). The new, silver and black living room friendly PC is powered by Windows XP Media Center Edition, features 250GB of internal storage, built-in 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, 3Ghz Pentium 4 processor, front panel LCD, and host of other niceties that have yet to be publicly released – planned launch: October 2005.
